Reverend Doctor C. William Mercer -- "Reverend Will"
Rev. Dr. C. William Mercer (BS, MSLA, JD) is an ordained United Divine Science minister and practitioner, a New York and Colorado attorney and mediator, and an adult educator. He is Senior Staff Minister of the United Divine Freedom Church of the Healing Christ in New York City working with Senior Minister and Founder, Sedare Coradin-Mercer. Will’s education in conflict resolution began with early-career work as a labor negotiator in the steel industry, supplemented with formal training through the American Arbitration Association, Ph7 Conflict Resolutions, and the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Will's experience in mediation and dispute resolution spans the fields of domestic relations, workplace conflict, community and business issues. In the arena of family law, he is a transformational mediator and conflict coach, having spent much of his time in Colorado representing the interests of children -- truly a ministry unto itself.
Will has been an instructor in business ethics, business structures, agency, family law and mediation for Red Rocks Community College, Parks College, the Denver Business College and the Arizona School of Real Estate and Business. He also served on the adjunct faculty of the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where he taught Dispute Resolution from 1995 through 1998.
Reverend Will was ordained by Rev. Dr. Blaine Mays, of the Lola Pauline Mays New Thought Seminary in Mesa, Arizona in 2007, and by Rev. Dr. Christopher L. Bazemore of the United Divine Science Ministerial School in Largo, Maryland in 2008.
Will is a member of the Spirituality and Family Sections of the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR), and was a 2008 Presenter at the ACR National Conference in Austin, Texas. In addition, Will has worked as a hospital chaplain and is a member of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE). Will is the current President of the Divine Science Ministers Association. He also is a member of the International New Thought Alliance (INTA), serves as the New York City Area Leader for INTA and was a presenter at both the 2008 and 2009 INTA Congress. Will is slated to speak again at the 2010 INTA Congress in Fort Lauderdale. Will has addressed New Thought gatherings across the country.
